Home Crime and Courts Delayed proceedings…

Charles Michael Swartz (pictured), whose murder trial just resumed recently after a hiatus of almost a year will have to wait another nine months for his trial to continue.

Judge Alfred Siboleka told Swartz on Friday that due to the unavailability of trial dates during this year he will have to wait in the trial-awaiting section of the Windhoek Prison until March 1 next year for his trial to continue.

Swartz is charged with the murder of his then 15-year old pregnant girlfriend in 2012, as well as two counts of assault.

He is represented by Mbanga Siyomunji on instructions from Legal Aid, while Dominic Lisulo appears on behalf of the State.
