Dembele brace guides Paris St Germain to victory

Ousmane Dembele scored twice as Paris St Germain beat St Etienne 2-1 at Parc des Princes to extend their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to seven points.

Dembele fired PSG into an early lead, and converted a first-half penalty.

Although Zuriko Davitashvili’s free-kick reduced the deficit, St Etienne have yet to win in nine away league matches this season.

Luis Enrique’s PSG sealed their sixth straight win in all competitions and extended their unbeaten league run this season to 17 matches.

France forward Dembele, whose stoppage-time goal against Monaco last week secured PSG the French Champions Trophy, took his tally to 11 in total this season. –Nampa/AFP
