The Africa Economic Leadership Council (AELC) is hard at work putting all logistics in place for the upcoming SME and Township Economy Expo to be held in Swakopmund from 29 June to 1 July 2023.
The expo, dubbed ‘Discover Namibia 2023 SME & Township Economy Expo, conference and networking gala dinner’, will take place at the Mondesa multipurpose centre.
AELC co-founder and president Heinrich Hafeni said the organisation aims to contribute to the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which seeks to transform Africa into a prosperous continent based on inclusive growth and sustainable development.
“We believe the expo is a platform for businesses of all sizes to showcase their products and services, and to network with potential partners,” he said.
Hafeni said the expo is expected to attract over 200 exhibitors, both local and international.
“We are particularly excited to see the participation of small businesses, as they are the backbone of our economy,” he said.
The expo will feature a conference on the theme ‘The role of SMEs in the development of the Namibian economy’.
The conference will be attended by government officials, business leaders, and academics.
It will also feature a networking gala dinner, which will provide an opportunity for businesses to connect with potential partners.
