DJ Erro: Built on beats, pure determination

DJ and producer Erro Mulokoshi, known as DJ Erro, built his career on a deep love of music and a desire for success.

Growing up in Windhoek, Wanaheda, he recalls that his musical journey started well before he became a DJ.

His passion for music grew towards the end of primary school, when he and his friends competed to find the newest and most exclusive tracks.

“I am most probably the hardest-working person you can ever find. Everything I have achieved is by hard work and determination,” he said.

“We were always competing with close friends about who had the newest and unreleased music every week. Guess what, I was leading,” said DJ Erro with a smile.

This love for exclusive tracks soon turned into a dream, and he began watching performances by well-known Namibian DJs such as DJ Spuzza, KFC DJs and Asserdeep.

“That’s when I knew I wanted to do this and be as good as these guys,” he noted. His first break came when he landed a gig at ‘For the Guys’, a bar owned by Luvialen Vallo. This opportunity opened multiple doors for him, and he remains forever grateful, as he was not an established DJ at the time.

Currently, DJ Erro works as a full-time DJ and producer; however, on the side, he is also part of Geneva Events and all while running his own business, Millou Horizon Investment CC.

“Well, mostly because DJing is at night. Sometimes during the day but mostly at night, and then I do my daily tasks during the day before doing the night job,” he explained.

DJ Erro enjoys working with genres such as Afro House and Afro Tech, known for deep rhythms and energetic vibes while in the groove.

He has, however, taught himself versatility because the market demands more from him; he delves into other popular genres such as three step, Hip Hop and Amapiano.

His most memorable performance was at the Barhpf Spitzkoppe Festival.

“I was fully allowed to play what I am most powerful at, which is Afro House and my favourite genre to play,” he said.

He has also gained continental recognition, would love to visit most, if not all, African countries, and is currently signed as a Meister with Jägermeister. “I would never have thought to ever work with a big brand like this but look at what God has done for me,” he said.

The budding DJ hopes the future will look positive as he hopes to host more intimate music sessions, move into corporate performances and eventually establish his own studio and record label.

“In the next few years, I will be owning a studio with my own record label and have artists and DJs under me while travelling the world,” he shared.
