A communal area conservancy, Doro !Nawas in Kunene Region, last week signed a joint venture partnership with a sSouthern African safari company.
This is deemed the first joint venture partnership where the community is an equal owner of an accommodation facility.
The Doro !Nawas Camp was opened in 2005. Wilderness Safaris together with Business Linkage Challenge Fund (BCLF) – which contributed the conservancy’s share for the equal partnership in the camp – funded the development of Doro !Nawas.
