WINDHOEK – Local and international long-distance runners will be in action when the annual Dr Sam Nujoma half-marathon gets underway in the capital this coming Sunday at 07h00 in the morning.
Local telecommunications giant MTC, in conjunction with the Coca Cola bottling company are once again the sponsors of this year’s event. MTC as headline sponsor has thrown their weight fully behind the event with a sponsorship N$170 000. The grueling event is the brainchild of the Namibia Sports Commission (NSC).
The half-marathon is dedicated to Dr Nujoma as a token of appreciation for all the personal sacrifices he made as a torchbearer of the struggle for Namibian independence. This year, the race will kick off and finish at the Doc Jubber Hockey Fields in Olympia.
