Drought assistance not in practice yet

Home Farmers Forum Drought assistance not in practice yet

Windhoek

Due to an article in the NAU newsletter last week, the NAU office has received many enquiries about the drought assistance.  We kindly stress that the process whereby a task team from the office of the Prime Minister as well as the Ministry of Agriculture is still on-going to identify the areas where drought assistance will be applicable. Therefore, no application forms for drought assistance are available yet.

Producers must not link their marketing to the drought assistance at this stage.  Proceed with a marketing program as the situation prescribes.  Producers are requested to keep all relevant records with regards to marketing of livestock, permits, transport etc. as proof in the case where producers qualify for the drought assistance.  The NAU office will keep members informed of any new information.

Further enquiries can be directed to Bert Izaaks (061 208 7529), D. Cloete (081 170 0130) of (061 208 7535).
