Home National DTA recalls councillor from Bethanie

WINDHOEK – The DTA of Namibia says it has withdrawn its councillor for Bethanie Village Council, Edward Wells, with immediate effect.

Wells was the village council chairperson.
“As you might all be aware of the score of criminal charges faced by Wells, the party thus decided to withdraw him from the village council,” Secretary General Vincent Kanyetu told New Era.
“The party will appoint his successor in due course,” he added.
Wells was arrested in March this year after he was allegedly found in possession of mandrax tablets.
The tablets were valued at N$40.
At the time of his arrest, //Karas Regional Commander Arnas Shivute told New Era that the police arrested Wells about 20 kilometres outside Keetmanshoop en route to Lȕderitz after police received a tipoff from an informant.
The case is pending.
