The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has dispatched voter registration material and equipment to all 14 regions as well as to Namibian diplomatic missions abroad, in accordance with the timelines set in the 2024 Electoral Calendar.

ECN spokesperson De Wet Siluka, in a telephonic interview with Nampa said all equipment was dispatched on Thursday for the general voter registration, scheduled to take place from 3 June to 1 August 2024.

He said locally, the materials were dispatched via the NamPost courier service, escorted by the Namibian Police.

“Internationally, the materials were dispatched using the secured diplomatic postal services of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation for delivery to the respective Namibian diplomatic missions,” Siluka stated.

He further indicated that during this period, all eligible Namibian citizens who have attained the age of 18 and above are required to register afresh within the constituencies they reside.

The ECN has established 567 registration teams that will be deployed locally, while 35 teams will serve at the diplomatic missions.

Registration points will be open from 08h00 until 19h00, Monday to Saturday, throughout the country and at all Namibian diplomatic missions.
