KATIMA MULILO – Police in the Zambezi region have charged an education officer for poaching after he was found with three buffalo carcasses loaded in a government vehicle that he was driving.
It is alleged that the 46-year-old chief education officer in Zambezi was caught red-handed with buffalo meat valued at about N$60 000 on Wednesday night at around 20h00 at Masokotwani in the Sibbinda constituency.
Zambezi regional police spokesperson Kisco Sitali confirmed the arrest. “It is alleged that the suspect unlawfully and intentionally hunted and killed protected game,” he stated. The accused is expected to appear in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate’s Court today.
