By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK Representatives of about fifteen civil society bodies and arts and culture promoters over the weekend attended a four-week modular management and leadership workshop held by the Finnish Embassy in Windhoek. “The aims and objectives of these workshops are to reflect on the values, type, ethics and styles of leadership qualities,” said project officer of the Finnish Embassy, Elise Heikkinen. According to her the next workshop to take place in early August will primarily focus on strategic thinking and participatory planning. “Strategic planning requires strategic thinking and ‘strategic’ has to be translated into positive action. This workshop will be followed by one on human resource development and financial management and the one thereafter will deal with good governance, communication, donor relations and fundraising,” Heikkinen said.
