EEFA goes digital with launch of new website…Epukiro farmers on the move

OZOMBOUVAPA – In its continued efforts to improve productivity and bring vital services and information closer to communal farmers in the constituency, the Eastern Epukiro Farmers Association (EEFA) recently launched its official website, which it hopes will bring farmers closer and improve farming techniques.

EEFA chief marketing officer Kauetu Murangi said the launch of the website is an indication that the association is ready to move with the times – and with the many challenges facing farmers worldwide today, going online to share notes and experiences with others is the way to go.

EEFA was established in 1989 and is one oldest communal farmers’ association in the country. The new EEFA website is www.eefa-epukiro.com.

“This will help us gain access to more markets for our animals and also bring farmers closer together through the sharing of information and experiences, especially during these tough times of drought. We have a variety of options on our website menu, such as the EEFA calendar, membership application forms and other important documents from the Meat Board of Namibia. Everything is on there,” he said.

Murangi added the website will go a long way in helping farmers cut cost, as they can now access all documents and vital information on the website and will not be required to drive all the way to the office.

“EEFA is working in collaboration with the Meat Board to help our farmers order their ear tags through the website and even make online payments with regard to any purchases. We have to be innovative to move forward; therefore, we will be creating pages on Instagram, X and Facebook. We recently also had a successful expo and plans are now underway to have our events livestreamed going forward in order to accommodate all our farmers.”
