One of the Namibia youngest and ambitious models, Madeleen Guriras (17), says she is ready to take her talent to the next level after being crowned Miss Ekulo Senior Secondary School this year.

The beauty pageant took place in the school’s main hall in the Omuthiya Constituency, Oshikoto region. “This crown gave me a platform to continue with what I love the most. I want to start participate in high level beauty pageants both national and international,” says the overwhelmed and proud Madeleen. She adds that the battle was one of the toughest challenges she has ever gone through due to the fact that all the contestants were so talented. “I am honoured to be a winner and this to me is a blessing. Soon or later I really want to be on bigger stages for enormous beauty pageants such as Miss Namibia and Miss Universe,” says Madeleen joyfully.

Madeleen won Miss Nyambali Junior Secondary School in 2013 and have twice been the Second Princess of the Omuntele Youth Expo in 2013 and 2014. The Sarah Kalumbu was crowned First Princess while Maria Neumbo the Second Princess of Miss Ekulo. The show was well attended by learners from different schools in the regions of Oshikoto and Oshana. Guests were entertained by dancing groups from different schools in nearby towns as well as by the Multi-talented Namibian artist, Tsempo Dj Nkero, the owner of the Elombe Art Academy (EAA).

“I would like to thank the organising committee for giving us the chance to showcase our talents, as well as my fellow learners for the support. I am ready to represent my school in any beauty pageant and eventually I am wishing everyone at our school and all the youth out there good luck in life and a productive year,” says Madeleen.
