WINDHOEK – Julien Bok, Aina Kiimba and Mcallen Bok are the three top receivers of the Pan African Youth Awards from the Eldorado High School.
The Pan African Youth Awards acknowledge learners for their contribution towards revamping and renovating their school environment as part of their social responsibilities. Mcallen Bok (not relation to Julien) who received the Overall Eldorado Youth award says he was very excited receiving this award. He adds that he will continue to work hard. Julien Bok who received the Margaret Mensah-Williams Award says she is delighted to be recognised as one of the hard working learners at the school, and wants to encourage others to do the same. Aina Kiimba who was absent during the awards received the Ottilie Abrahams Award.
Up to 30 learners and teachers from the school also received trophies, medals and certificates for their contribution towards the revamping and renovating of the school. The Pan African Youth Club of Eldorado was established in 2015 by a group of enthusiastic and keen learners inspired to speed up the development of Africans by making fellow youth aware and engaging them in activities that create self-awareness as Pan Africanists. The club started only with 40 members and now have 200 learners from the school. Their future plans are to introduce Pan Africanism to other schools within the Khomas Region and expand to other regions.
