Electricity power supply in the country is expected to remain “tight” for the rest of this week following Eskom’s announcement to reduce power supply to Namibia.
“No firm time (has been given by Eskom). Indications are that the situation could normalise towards the end of the week,” NamPower spokesperson, John Kaimu said.
Power shortages have been attributed to severe weather conditions that damaged electricity pylons and other critical electrical infrastructure further impacting on Eskom’s ability to meet domestic demand and other SADC customers.
