David Uuzanga, known by his stage name Elle Mwanaka Chokwe, has emerged as a rising star in the Namibian Afro-pop music scene, attracting fans with his mesmerising voice and unique sound. 

With a passionate belief in self-confidence and the rewards of hard work, Elle Mwanaka Chokwe has been steadily carving his path to success, establishing his brand, and leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

“At this point in my life, I have truly discovered myself and the musical direction I want to take. I see myself as a young king with big ambitions, aiming to revolutionise the Namibian music scene, and gain global recognition. Music knows no boundaries; we move forward, regardless of obstacles,” he said. 

Through his highly-anticipated album ‘Save My Soul’, to be released soon, 

Elle Mwanaka Chokwe delivers a powerful message through 18 captivating tracks. Collaborating with esteemed artists such as Kachazi, Swart Baster, Yamukongo and Tashen, the album is a testament to his artistic vision and versatility. 

Credit is also extended to the talented production team at $mall Small Entertainment, comprising Drum Base, DJ Chronic, Tally Beats, Chester Beats and M-Jay.

Excitement peaked when he announced his album launch, scheduled for 5 July at Jokers. The lineup features renowned artists such as Sunny Boy, Don Kamati, Kachazi, Kamtonyo, Teqla, Benga Boy, I’vory, Tashen, Sasa-Yaya and MC Star Queen.

Reflecting on his journey, Chokwe acknowledges there’s still much he hopes to achieve, particularly in securing financial stability as a musician. Nevertheless, his plans for the future remain firm and promising.

Chokwe, who has been in the industry for six years, told VIBEZ! that with this being his first album, he didn’t really face challenges; it was just hard work and dedication. 

“In the music industry, I am inspired by WizKid and Omaly from Nigeria. They made me fall in love with Afro-pop music. As an uprising artist, I am aiming for my music to go global and be internationally-recognised,” he said.
