Home National Epukiro JSS awards learners,

WIDHOEK- Uetuuaneka Karumendu (Grade 8), Korokue Tjomuho (Grade 9), and Tujamee Tjinape (Grade 8), are the top performers of the Epukiro Junior Secondary School having obtained 43, 33 and 39 marks respectively in the August examinations.

The school held its annual awards ceremony last Thursday to recognise its top achievers scholarly, culturally and on the sports arena. The teachers were also recognised for their dedication in various subjects with the best performing being Orban Tjingaete for Otjiherero with 87.4 percent, Makari for Geography with 51.7 percent and Sir Meeja for English with 50.6 percent.  On the sport field, Himeezembi Kahee and Mesututjike were recognised as most valuable players in football and netball respectively; Okeri Hangero and Uetutiza Sangiro as most promising talents while Himeekaruka Kazao is best overall player, Kavaka Koviao is netball’s coach of the year and Sir Meeja is football’s coach of the year. 

Jessica Tjeriko and Operi Kamahene are the schools best cultural envoys while Mbitjita Kanduuombe and Japundua Mbaha are the school’s choir best vocalists. The schools support staff were also recognised with Magdalena Katamelo, Julia Hengari, Albert Tjitunga, Salomon Mbura and Josephine Kahee honoured for their dedication and commitment to the vacation school.  

Noag Tjatindi, a retired footballer now with the Epukiro Old Masters Club has been recongised for this exploits in organising a football tournament with Brigitte Murangi and Albert Tjitunga coaches of the tournament; Magdalena Katamelo getting another two accolades for overall best organiser and quality service delivery while Ehrenfriede Kamatjipose was recognised as the school’s best administrator.
