Excitement builds as HopHydro Cup kicks off tomorrow

Excitement builds as HopHydro Cup kicks off tomorrow

The much-anticipated HopHydro Cup, an international U/18 soccer tournament, was officially launched yesterday in Windhoek.

This exciting competition, set to run from tomorrow through Sunday, promises to bring together some of the best young football talent from both Namibia and abroad.

The tournament will feature two local Namibian teams – Collin Benjamin Soccer Talents (CBS) and a Khomas Regional team – competing against top-tier youth sides from South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Germany’s Nürnberg.

Collin Benjamin, director of CBS Talents and one of the key organisers of the event, is calling on football fans to fill the stands at the CBS Arena and support the young players.

He added that they want to create a platform for the players to test themselves, and see areas of improvement.

“Entrance is free, so we hope to see a full stadium cheering on these young athletes where they can improve,” he said.
