Exciting finals at Hopsol 2024 championships

Last weekend, the Jan Möhr sports field was alive with action as the Hopsol 2024 finals took place, showcasing some of the best young football talent in the area. 

The event featured exciting matches in both the under-15 and under-19 categories, leading to thrilling knockout rounds and a special awards ceremony.

Under – 15 finals: DTS and ACFA (A) Shine

In the under-15 finals, Deutscher Turn und Sportverein (DTS) edged Riverheights with a close 1-0 win, securing the championship title. Both teams played well, but it was DTS who celebrated victory. In the third-place match, Athletic Club Football Academy (ACFA) (A) faced Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW), and won convincingly, finishing 3-1.

The awards for under 15 players included Ronald Kandjou from Kasaona, who was the Top Goal- Scorer with 17 goals. 

Milco Solunga of ACFA (A) was named Goalkeeper of the Year for conceding only three goals, while Efraim Tylves from DTS earned the Most Valuable Player award.

 Riverheights was named Team of the Year, and Ronald Chari took home the Coach of the Year award for his excellent leadership.

Under -19 finals: CBS takes title

The under-19 finals were just as thrilling, with CBS defeating SKW 1-0 to claim the championship. 

In the third-place match, Riverheights won against Ramblers with a score of 2-0.

In the under-19 awards, Jaden Januarie from Ramblers was the Top Goalscorer, netting 12 goals. 

Phileas Janka of CBS was recognised as Goalkeeper of the Year for conceding only eight goals. Adriano Gawab from CBS was named the Most Valuable Player. 

SKW was awarded Team of the Year, and coach Lucky Kakuva received the Coach of the Year award for his outstanding work.
