Exciting games expected in the KBA

Exciting games expected in the KBA

The Khomas Basketball Association (KBA) will continue this weekend, as teams aim to finish the league season on a high note.

John Tjirimuje, the marketing manager at the association, said the upcoming games are expected to be highly competitive as teams fight to end the season strongly.

“The league is coming to an end very soon, and I believe there are about two rounds left. The competition is intense. All teams in the league are currently fighting for points to keep their places in the league, or to fight for the top honour. You can just imagine what type of competitiveness these teams will bring on the court,” he said.

He added that newly-promoted teams have significantly raised the level of competition, pushing boundaries and enhancing the overall quality of the league.

Reflecting on the season, Tjirimuje noted that it has had its share of ups and downs but emphasised the positive impact of the increased competitiveness.

“The season has had its good and bad moments, but the drive and determination shown by all the teams have been remarkable. The newly-promoted teams have especially brought their A-game, which has made the league even more exciting,” he said.

He also highlighted the challenges faced during the season, particularly in finding a suitable venue for games.

“I think one of the challenging things we’ve faced this year is finding a venue. Usually, we would use the Unam Gym Hall, but when the university goes on a break, we tend to not have a place to play ball, which eventually leads to the league being on halt,” he said.

“But we have found a new home now, which is at DHPS. That’s where most of our games are being held lately. I trust that soon, we can finally get a place where all our games are held without any disruption.” -mkambukwe@nepc.com.na
