Swakopmund’s pristine beaches set the stage for an electrifying display of beach volleyball expertise during the weekend, as teams from across Namibia competed in the 2024 Bank Windhoek national beach volleyball tournament.
Against the backdrop of the majestic Namibian coastline, players demonstrated their skills, determination and teamwork in a tournament characterised by intense competition and the rise of new talents.
In the men’s division, Panache Chiguta and Kudakwashe Mahachi claimed victory, with Conrad Johannes, Heiko Diehl, Thomas Shilumbu, and Theodore Thomas securing second and third place.
Daniel ‘Pumi’ Seidler and Matthew Paulus clinched fourth place. In the women’s division, Rosi Hennes and Lameesh Harris emerged victorious, followed by Cathy Thomas and Beatrix Kalongee in second place.
Maggie Heita, Mirriam Mendos, Emma Cornel and Lucie Hartmann secured third and fourth place, respectively.
The tournament embodied the spirit of competition and camaraderie, from intense matches on the sand to jubilant celebrations on the podium.
With the overwhelming success of this year’s event, anticipation is already building for the next national tour event scheduled for June, promising more excitement and unforgettable moments under the warm winter sun of Windhoek.
