Friday ended on a high for fashionistas when the winner of the 2015 Swakara Young Designers award, Salmi Shilongo, launched her first ready to wear collection at a Windhoek hotel. Salmi showed off four collections, themed Snow White, Black Widow, Sweet Dreams and Odelela. Unlike many freshman collections, there’s sophistication to Salmi’s designs, which focus on structured basics for the modern woman. With years of experience under her belt, Salmi says she’s now ready to go out there as a designer for her eponymous label Salshi Fashion. Make sure to catch entertainment reporter Selma Neshiko’s full review of this new line in our Friday edition of Timeout.
