Query: Mr President, a drunk nation shall never prosper. Does the Harambee Prosperity Plan address the closure of shebeens in residential areas?
Response: The Harambee Prosperity Plan does not cover all areas of our national development agenda. The issue of shebeens near schools and other social facilities is a matter of concern to the government. We are in consultation with the key role players in the sector to find a peedy resolution to the issues many citizens have raised across the country during the President’s town hall meetings. We will report back soon.
