WINDHOEK

Former Namibia Premiership outfit and Southern Stream Division One campaigners Deportivo Alaves, will be out to restore some lost pride after last weekend’s narrow defeat at the hands of United Stars in the final of the lucrative Hansa Pilsener Cup at Otjiwarongo.

Willy Swarts’ charges welcome log leaders Hotspurs at the Reho Stadium in Rehoboth on Saturday, and victory over the early pace setters could change the complexion of the league race with second placed Monitronic College monitoring the situation with an eagle eye.

Alaves might be out of contention for the league title but the Rehobothers possesses the ability to dictate the destination of the title and the Sowetons would be well advised to underestimate Alaves at their own peril.

Across town, Friends hosts Monitronic College, while Namib Woestyn entertains the visiting Desert Rollers from Gobabis at the Kuisebmond stadium in Walvis Bay.

The title chasing pair of Hotspurs and Monitronic College will swap opponents on Sunday with the Sowetons taking on Friends at the St Josephs Stadium in Rehoboth, while the Students make the short trip to the Reho Stadium for their confrontation with Alaves.

Sunday also sees Namib Woestyn up against Nampol at the Jan Wilkens Stadium in Walvis Bay.
