By Ernst Herma After performances of his latest work ‘Hechizo’ in countries such as Uruguay, France, Venezuela, Portugal, the USA, Canada and many more, Oscar Herrero is on his way to Namibia. The Flamenco soloist, composer, teacher and musician will give two flamenco performances at the Warehouse Theatre on September 11 and 14. The much-acclaimed Spanish musician started his soloist career at the age of 17, and two years later became an indispensable flamenco guitarist of that time. His career proved to be a success after winning first prizes awarded at the highest level in the world for flamenco. Oscar Herrero’s artistic growth and experience are confirmed by his latest work which is of excellent composition and interpretation. His music incorporates rhythms of tangos, granaÃÆ’Æ‘Æ‘ÃÆ”šÃ‚ÂÂÂna, farruca, nana, soleÃÆ’Æ‘Æ‘ÃÆ”šÃ‚ por bulerÃÆ’Æ‘Æ‘ÃÆ”šÃ‚ÂÂÂa, rumba, and siguiriya. In Windhoek, Oscar will perform alongside fellow flamenco musos, Sergey Safrychev on percussion and Diego Antunez on flute/saxophone. The Oscar Herrero Trio is brought to Windhoek by the courtesy of the Spanish cooperation and the Spanish Embassy in Namibia. Tickets for the show cost N$45 in advance and N$55 at the door, and are available now at the Warehouse Theatre.
