WINDHOEK – FNB Namibia sponsored a whopping N$15 000 to the Namibian Table Tennis Association (NTTA) for the hosting of this year’s Table Tennis Inter-Schools Championships, slated for this Saturday in the Hardap Region.

“We have worked with the NTTA over the last couple of years and are proud to be associated with them and hope we can build on this relationship,” said Ingrid

Goeieman, FNB Manager for PR and Sponsorships.

Goeieman urged the NTTA to expand this event in future to different regions and schools. The inter-schools championships is one of the NTTA’s prime youth development events.

The competition is an annual event, taking place at different venues each year and this year the championships will be staged in Stampriet (Hardap Region), home to some of the finest and most committed young table tennis athletes in Namibia.

Close to 40 youngsters from 10 different schools confirmed participation and will battle it out in the girls and boys divisions. Despite being a first of its kind for Stampriet, a very exiting competition is expected.

Participating schools are Elnatan Privaat Skool, Rehoboth High School, Mariental High School, M&K Gertze, Ruimte Primary School, Dr Lemmer High School, Vooruitsig Primary School, Holy Cross Convent and DHPS Private School.
