FNB Namibia has been named the Best Foreign Exchange Bank in Namibia in Global Finance magazine’s prestigious 26th Annual World’s Best Foreign Exchange Banks, part of the Gordon Platt Foreign Exchange Awards 2026.
This recognition forms part of Global Finance’s annual awards programme, which celebrates excellence across 87 countries, territories and districts, seven global regions and multiple global categories. The programme highlights institutions that demonstrate leadership, innovation and superior service in the global foreign exchange (FX) market.
Commenting on the accolade, Ian Erlank, Head of Global Markets at RMB Namibia, said: “This award reflects the strength of our FX capabilities and the depth of expertise across the group. At FNB Namibia and RMB Namibia, we remain committed to delivering innovative, reliable and customer-centric foreign exchange solutions that support our clients’ growth in an increasingly complex global environment.
We are honoured to be recognised for the work we do to safeguard value and enable seamless cross-border financial activity for businesses and individuals alike,” he elaborated.
A robust and efficient FX environment is essential for Namibia’s long-term economic resilience. It supports the stability of the Namibian dollar and ensures that businesses can operate with confidence in global markets.
Foreign exchange plays a pivotal role in a country like Namibia, where importers, exporters, investors and individuals are increasingly dependent on cross-border trade and international financial flows. Effective FX solutions enable businesses to pay for goods and services from abroad, facilitate tourism, unlock international investment opportunities and protect the value of remittances and savings.
Reliable FX services are also fundamental to strategic sectors such as mining, agriculture, logistics and retail, industries that rely on timely, secure and competitively priced currency solutions to maintain operational continuity and competitiveness. Global Finance’s selection process for award winners includes insights from industry specialists and detailed assessments of key performance indicators such as transaction volumes, market share, pricing competitiveness, global reach, customer service and technological innovation.
Erlank added: “FNB Namibia extends its appreciation to its clients for their continued trust and to its teams for consistently delivering service excellence that supports the evolving needs of the market.” -newsroom@nepc.com.na
