With action-packed netball opening this year’s FNB Classic Clashes games late last month, the game took another exciting twist when organisers added football and rugby to the fun-filled event.

In the opening netball clashes, Wennie du Plessis narrowly defeated Gobabis Gymnasium by 15-13, while in the football category, Jan Mohr overpowered Delta by 2-0. Suiderlig beat JA Nel by 3-1. In rugby action, PK de Villiers narrowly defeated Mariental Secondary by 16-14. Dixon Norval, Head of FNB Marketing, said Delta School has been the perfect host.

“The way the locker rooms were decorated and prepared for the teams was fantastic. This is the type of sportsmanship and camaraderie that we love in sports and that we hope to see on and off the field.  It really epitomises the quality the schools can achieve through the FNB Classic Clashes.”

This week’s action includes a football match between St Pauls and St Georges at the SKW fields on Friday at 15h00, while WHS and Elnatan will meet at the Vegkop rugby field for some rugby action on Saturday at 11h00.

“Join the fast-growing social media community by liking the FNB Namibia Classic Clashes Facebook page where there are lots of exciting prizes to win and watch all these matches on NBC TV, ” reminded Dixon Norval.
