It combines ancestral melodies with a modern instrumental flavour. With two guitars, one bass guitar and drums, Formula Band rewrites what is derived from vocal tradition. All members of the band have a musical history and each has been involved in one or other musical venture over the past few years. The current band members comprise Erwin Gaweseb on drums, Tulonga Wahengo on rhythm guitar, Mwayakalola Wahengo on lead guitar, Nafidi Wahengo on drums and Moses Manda on percussion. The lead vocals are shared by Ngatu Nganjone and Castro Ileni. A new CD ‘Shaa Mboka Rocks’ will be launched in the near future – due date in April. The independently-produced ‘Shaa Mboka Rocks’ features 12 brand new Formula tracks and was recorded at NBC Studios. Tickets for the show will go for N$45 at the door.
