A 41-year-old woman allegedly ended her life by overdosing on pills in her flat at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West region on Friday.
“It happened at around 12h30 at the flats behind Shoprite at Nkurenkuru. It is alleged that the deceased – Aino Magano Andreas (41) – a Namibian female, took pills and died instantly,’’ the police said in its weekly crime report.
According to the police, some pills were found at the scene. Her next of kin were informed and police investigations continue.
Another alleged suicide was reported at Eheke in the Oshana region’s Olukango village, where another woman took her own life on Saturday by hanging herself with a rope in her room at around 8h00.
The victim was identified as a 34-year-old Namibian female Helena Ndilipukuku Lihi.
Her next of kin were informed.
In a similar death, Shapumba Jacob Shipingana (28) allegedly hanged himself from the branch of a Mopani tree in front of their homestead at the Oshitukafitu village in the Omusati region.
“His next of kin have been informed.
In the Khomas region, the body of a man was found hanging from a tree at about 08h34 in a riverbed in the northern industrial area opposite Pupkewitz Megabuild.
It was spotted by a passerby, who then reported the matter to the police.
The victim is yet to be ident i f i ed but pol i c e investigations continue.
