Namibian singer Freddy Taylor will be onstage at the Catwalk Cafe in Klein Windhoek next Friday and Saturday, it was announced in a press release. The musician is back in the country after leaving for abroad a decade ago travelling, working and entertaining in countries like England, Germany, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Russia, North Africa (Tunisia and Morocco) and Sydney in Australia. Freddy met artists like Al Jarreau, George Benson (famous soul-jazz singers), the entire Kool & the Gang group, Jamiroqai (just a few to mention), and he also shared the stage with Terence Trent D`arby, Andru Donalds and Peter Gabriel in Munich’s most famous nightclub called The Bayerischerhof Nite Club. In 1999 Freddy Taylor and his band was one of the 10 finalists in the Europe’s Best Rock Band in Athene with his song Trivial Things and won the Bayern Lion Prize 2000 for the best performing band out of 125 bands in Geroldsholzen. Freddy is still remembered by many after winning the NBC Music Awards in 1988 as Best Male Vocalist and being a judge at the Miss Universe 1995. According to the press, release the musician plans to stage a few more concerts in other parts of the country. The concert programme will contain his own compositions and soul funk classics from back in the days, songs from Prince, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Commodores, James Ingram, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai, etc. The concert will be loaded with energy, humour and international experience, the release promised.
