Windhoek – It is time for laughter and giggles again when Free Your Mind (FYM) Comedy present their first show of the year Starter Pack on Thursday at the Warehouse Theatre.
“The Starter Pack show will be a great way to begin the year, as we pledge to be better, bigger and funnier,” says the executive producer of FYM, Ndemufayo ‘Chicken’ Kaxuxuena. He adds that Courage, Kris with a K, Joh white and Taap the Guy with their MC of the night, Weezil, are ready to welcome the audience back from the holidays with comedic resolutions in the new year.
“It is a mix of new and old comics who are down and ready to wash away your January blues with punchlines designed to help you forget that you were broke and again forgot to plan for January,” says Kaxuxuena.
Kris with a K promises the audience a fresh new show giving them his experience of touring neighbouring countries in December.
“It’s a starter pack show; the audience must expect new things from me as I will enlighten them with the experience I got from my tour to South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Botswana, not forgetting the bad experience I had dating a tall lady and yes, ‘January’. It’s a show they can’t miss,” he says.
Courage says there is an improvement in his work because he is now a full-time comedian. “The audience can expect more and better jokes from me. I was touring through Namibia the whole December and I have more jokes to tell from that,” says Courage who promises the funniest local and international humour.
Chicken states that this year FYM aims to expand and deliver relevant, very funny and critical content that can provide their audience with food for thought.
“A lot of effort will be directed into the TV show which is aimed at bringing Namibian talent into the mainstream comedy industry across Africa. This platform will increase the popularity of comedians not only nationwide but also on a continental level. We encourage everyone out there to attend the show,” noted Kaxuxuena.
Tickets are N$100 in advance at Computicket outlets nationwide and N$150 at the door.
