WINDHOEK-Frieda Haindaka, popularly known as Freeda, is launching her debut album, Just Freeda, tonight at the Viritios Bar in Otjiwarongo.

Her much anticipated album was released last December. Freeda says she is launching her first album in Otjiwarongo due to popular demands as people from Otjiwarongo have been supporting her vastly these past weeks and she just wanted to show them her appreciation. “My fans in Otjiwarongo have been demanding for me to perform in their home town for so long. We are not just launching this album in Otjiwarongo, but only starting with Otjiwarongo. We also plan on launching this album in every town in Namibia depending on the fans,” she says.

Her 18-track album is influenced by different genres such as House, RnB, Afro Pop and a bit of Kwaito. Exit, Dice, Maszanga, D-Naff and Shayman Shaizo from Zambia are some of the big names in the music industry currently featuring on Freeda’s album. She says natives should watch out for songs like track three,This Whole Love Things, a love  up-tempo and loud song that contain a bit of House. Track 7, Boom Boom featuring Dice, is a party song with unique voices of Freeda and Dice combined together. Another hit song is Party, track 12 featuring Gazza, a strictly House song.

Berthold and Diop are the two main artists to perform at the launch. There will be more other artists, especially upcoming artists to perform as well. This year Freeda will shoot two music videos of Boom Boom and This Whole Love Things. Tickets will cost N$30 and N$ 50 after twelve midnight. Doors open at seven O’clock (19h00)
