The 2025 Namibian National Enduro Championship wrapped up in style on 4 October at Gallina Motocross Park, drawing one of the best turnouts seen for a final round in recent years.
More than 40 riders took to the course for the season’s concluding race, which marked a triumphant return to the Döbra mountains, an area that had been off the national Enduro calendar for over a decade.
“Turnout was tremendous, especially for the final round. In past seasons, the numbers tend to drop when riders know they can’t win the championship anymore, but this time the enthusiasm was fantastic,” said Ingo Waldschmidt, chairman of the Motocross Working Group and lead organiser of the event.
The Gallina course, renowned for its diverse terrain and challenging trails, combined stretches of the motocross track with rugged mountain routes.
According to Waldschmidt, preparing the course was no small feat.
The area had become heavily overgrown during its ten-year hiatus, forcing organisers to spend four weekends clearing and marking the trails to race-ready standard.
The event catered to a wide range of riders, from 85cc entrants to seasoned competitors, by splitting routes based on ability.
“We try to strike a balance between making it challenging enough for the top riders but not too tough for the beginners,” Waldschmidt explained.
This year’s Enduro Championship featured eight rounds held across various regions of Namibia.
The annual prize-giving ceremony, set for 31 October, will honour the 2025 champions before the 2026 season kicks off in February, promising fresh venues and new challenges for riders.
