The prizes were handed over by Jacqueline Kabambe, a representative from Unicef Namibia, partner of the NFA Galz & Goals programme. “The participation and commitment from players and coaches have been remarkable this year, and all the teams will be receiving balls to encourage them to continue training, as they truly deserve it. Thanks to our valuable partners Unicef, Spar and SCORE, the Galz & Goals League is growing bigger and stronger every year,” said Jackey Gertze, the National Coordinator of the NFA Galz & Goals programme, which is active in eight regions in Namibia.
“The Galz & Goals League has been fascinating, as we are able to do what the boys do and I get to meet new people. Our opponents are every competitive and that motivates me to work hard. I have learned patience and teamwork, as my coach is very motivating and encouraging. My parents have been very supportive throughout the league and now I am already looking forward to next year,” said Leena Mugena, a player in the U-13 League.
