WINDHOEK – Three men who allegedly gang raped a 20-year-old woman in a public toilet at Otavi’s Single Quarters last week Thursday morning were denied bail when they made an appearance in the Otavi Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The accused are 24-year-old Isaskar Gariseb, 28-year-old Lukas Gaoseb, 21-year-old David Naibeb, the Otjozondjupa Regional Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Maureen Mbeha told New Era this week. The matter was postponed to May 27 for further investigations and their legal aid application.
Leonard Tjiveze represented the State while Magistrate Elvis Mwilima presided.
The accused were apprehended on the same day of the incident. The men allegedly followed the woman when she was walking home from a shebeen. They approached the woman and one of them grabbed her from behind, pulled her into the public toilet and all of them repeatedly raped her.
