Gawanab, Hooft lead NCCI Lüderitz

The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) Secretariat recently elected Lüderitz branch leadership for the next two years. The branch will be led by Alex Gawanab as chairperson and Daniel Hooft as vice chairperson.

Both men are well-regarded figures in the Lüderitz business community, representing the fishing industry and the emerging kelp-linked sector, respectively. The new leadership was elected on 14 August 2025.

The election, held at the Lüderitz Waterfront, was overseen by the NCCI Chief Executive Officer, Titus Nampala, with the participation of the Lüderitz Town Council’s Economic Development Planning Officer, Justine Louw.

During the engagement, business leaders, including Fluksman Samuehl and Alex Gawanab, shared reflections on the chamber’s past work in Lüderitz and factors that contributed to the slowdown of branch activities. At the session, Nampala provided a summary of the chamber’s new direction and plans to guide commerce needs for Namibian businesses.
