Windhoek

DTS will host the Interpack Beach Volleyball Winter Classic Tourney at its sports premises in Olympia this coming Saturday.

The competition is the first of many series tournaments on this year’s NVF Beach Volleyball Tour and gets underway at DTS Sports Grounds at 08h00 on 11 July. It is the second time the popular Beach Tour will stop in Windhoek this year.

Jan-Eric Sack and James Verrinder, the DTS/Boardriders Open 2015 Men’s Champions, will be in action, but with different partners this time, while the Ladies’ Champions, Wiebke Hoeritzauer and Teja Lueck, are lining up to continue their winning partnership.

The tourney has also attracted two men’s teams from the Erongo region that will make their second appearance on the NVF Beach Tour 2015.

With N$5 000 worth of prize-money at stake, courtesy of Interpack & NVF Beach Tour Points, stiff competition will no doubt be on display and spectators can expect fantastic beach volleyball.

Matches start at 08h00 and will continue throughout the day, with the finals slated for late afternoon. Event organisers have urged spectators to come out in large numbers to support the athletes’ attempts to become the DTS / BOARDRIDERS Open Champion 2015. The tourney will contested in the following categories: 2-a-side Men; 2-a-side Women; 2-a-side Youth Girls (Under 18); 2-a-side Social Adults including Youth Boy’s (Under 18); Mixed 4-a-side (with one women on court at all times).

The last two NVF Beach Tour 2015 events will take place on the following dates:
Fabupharm Swakop Open, 25 -26 September, at Mole Beach, Swakopmund, and Red Bull King & Queen of the Beach 24 October at DTS Beach Volleyball Arena.
