Go-karting tournament produces fireworks

The Go-karting tournament over the weekend lived up to expectations, the organisers have said.

The tourney was held in Windhoek and attracted over 50 riders, who were all competing for top prizes at the event.

One of the most notable wins this weekend was Russell Josephat, who dominated proceedings in his micro-max category, coming first during practice. He also dominated proceedings in heats 1 to 3, leading to him being crowned winner of the micro-max category.

In an interview yesterday, Josephat’s father and coach JP Josephat said he was impressed with how his boy performed, although he knew he would win the race. “I believe we have put in so much work, and the results are just a reflection of what we have been practising over the past few weeks. It was a tough event, but I think he has gotten better as a rider, and we know the races so well that I expected an easy win for the boy,” he said.

In the senior max category, James van den Heever came first, followed by Kian Fussell in second and Dylan Zandberg in third position. In the mini-max category, Cecil Koorts prevailed as the winner. –mkambukwe@nepc.com.na
