Esme Sophia Isaack was born on May 30, 1967 at Mariental.

She has been the Governor of Hardap Region since 2015.

Education
She completed her secondary schooling at Azaliah College and obtained a Basic Education Teachers Diploma from the University of Namibia (Unam) in 2008. She has also completed a number of training courses on leadership, English language presentation skills for teachers, school readiness, facilitators’ training, and in has a background in community support of abused women and children, as well as women’s empowerment.

Career
She was a teacher from 1986 to 2010. From 2010 until her appointment as regional governor, Isaack served as the pre-primary education coordinator in the Hardap directorate of education. She has served as chairperson of various bodies within the local and regional council of Hardap Region. She also previously served as mayor of Aranos Town Council.
