… Bring on the Arrows

WINDHOEK – After suffering a 3-0 mauling at the hands of Pedro Athletico de Luanda in Angola over the weekend, a result which subsequently also shattered their CAF Confederations Cup dreams, it’s again back to business for Katutura giants African Stars as they face the daunting task of negotiating their way past Eleven Arrows in the remaining fixtures in the Bidvest Namibia Cup.

Slated for the Sam Nujoma Stadium this coming Saturday (18h00), the Bidvest Cup reigning champions Stars will be out to assuage their CAF Confederations Cup woes by hammering Arrows with the hope of consoling their often vociferous and hard-to-please supporters, while also striving to progress to the next stage of the competition.

Despite a disappointing early exit from the highly competitive CAF Confederations Cup, coach Woody Jacobs and his charges will be expected to demonstrate that they are still a force to be reckoned with and serious silverware contenders this season by recording a victory against Arrows, which will then see them lock horns with rival Orlando Pirates.

In other action, Black Africa take on First Division outfit Cuca Tops also at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 16h00 in what promises to be yet another entertaining clash, with BA going into the encounter as hot favourites.  The winner of this match will face coastal side Blue Birds, while Bush Bucks confront Mountain Rangers in a clash that will see the winner take on Rundu Chiefs.

Action in the upcoming round of 16 which starts end of this month will see Tigers taking on Blue Waters, while in another all-premiership tussle United Stars will battle it out against Blue Boys. Tura Magic will fancy their chances to go through to the quarterfinals as they are slotted against Grootfontein‘s Tropical Heat.

Meanwhile, Kaizen Football Academy will face Ramblers, with Southern Stream First Division side Citizens facing league rivals Bee Bob Brothers in one of the thrilling clashes.
