In times of economic uncertainty, it is always comforting to know that you can depend on friends and family to assist you. That was the common message from Bank Windhoek’s GroupSave competition, which ran from December 2016 to February 2017. The competition was themed: “Live the moments, share the memories.”
Six GroupSave accounts each won N$5,000 that was deposited into their accounts to assist in its growth.
“We were actually university friends that lost touch of each other. We then found each other on Facebook and decided to do something extra for each other this year by opening a GroupSave account at Bank Windhoek.
“The purpose of our account is to help, empower and mutually support each other in times of need and to celebrate birthdays and special occasions,” said Mietha Jacobs from The Class of 90-Groupsave account.
Fredrika Martin, one of the signatories of the Ndina Groupsave account from Walvis Bay said that their main purpose of saving as a team was to provide for their future needs and unforeseen change in circumstances. “We are very happy with the results and savings we have made so far,” Fredrika said in an interview.
“We have a big family and we need to help each other in times of financial difficulties,” said Naftali Ngwediva from the Mukwhepo Family GroupSave Account in Rundu. By saving together as one we help each other when the need arises.
“These are just some of the success stories of Bank Windhoek’s GroupSave account that has made a significant impact on how friends and family can save as a group,” said Chris Matthee, executive officer responsible for retail banking services at Bank Windhoek.
“We congratulate all the winners of our GroupSave competition. These loyal Bank Windhoek customers truly show how team work leads to positive results when it comes to saving for your future,” Matthee said.
“Nothing beats teamwork. Research has shown that when a team works together as a unit they are able to accomplish more than the individual members can do alone. Teamwork creates higher quality outcomes that are more efficient, thoughtful, effective, as well as faster. Individuals benefit from teamwork through mutual support and a great sense of accomplishment.
“Just like working in a team, Bank Windhoek also gives its customers the opportunity to save as a group with our GroupSave account,” Matthee concluded.
