Tura Magic Ladies gaffer Shama Gure has applauded his charges for not losing track of their main objective this season, which is to win the league title.
Gure was particularly impressed with the manner in which his side responded in their 4-3 win over Beauties FC on Saturday during their FNB Women’s Super League clash, which he said demonstrated their character and intent to win the league trophy come the end of the season.
“It was a great game, and we all saw how tough it was playing against Beauties, but the girls showed character and once again demonstrated that we are worthy champions. They fought hard against a very tricky opponent and managed to get the win. The team had a plan, and we stuck to the plan, which ensured we got the maximum points. Beauties are a good team, but our objectives remain the same, and that is to win the league title,” said Gure.
“We are going back to the drawing board to work on the mistakes we made. Our goal is to take it one game at a time, with the league being so competitive this season.” Meanwhile, Beauties’ coach Errol Damaseb said their approach to their games is always the same, and the players are gaining confidence despite the mixed results at times.
“We have fast players in our team – and today, we launched long balls upfront, which worked for us. We made silly mistakes, which caused us the game but I am happy with the work that the girls have put in,” Damaseb said.
