EENHANA – The Windhoek based children author, Helvi Wheeler, will launch another children’s series but this time chronicling the famous history of the Founding President and Father of the Nation, Dr Sam Nujoma early March.

The book is titled Sam Nujoma, The Founding President of Namibia. The 64 page publication is aimed at sensitising and chronicling the history of Dr Sam Nujoma to  Namibian children.  Like other books authored on him, she aims to tell the story of the Founding President and Father of the Nation, from his childhood to the dawn of the Namibia’s independence.   “The launch is planned for early March and all is set for the launch in Windhoek and in Oshakati.  I can safely say, the book is 90 percent complete and it will be available on the market soon after the launch in early March,” she informs

The book follows Namibia’s struggle for liberation from South African Apartheid rule and the era of reconciliation that followed.  The author narrates  Dr  Nujoma’s dedication to Namibia freedom and the book will undoubtedly inspire and educate young children in Namibia and beyond. “It is highly recommended for the youth in their quest to learn about these chapters in Namibian history.  Namibians from across the country expect the book in their bookshops on their shores before independence anniversary on the 21st March,” Wheeler promises.

Wheeler, have had a writing passion since her childhood although like any other child her parents encouraged her to study medicine. Last year she was the only Namibian author who was selected by the German Foreign Affairs Office to represent Namibia at the world’s largest book fair, the Frankfurt Book Fair 2013.  The  fair last October  attracted more than 7 000 international exhibitors.  Wheeler who has also authored several children books under Yambeka Children Media. She aims to market this book in many countries in Europe where some of the children’s books under Yambeka Children Media are selling.  Some of her works is being read in more than ten European countries.  Other books authored by Wheeler are Kishikishi and the bad monster, Nehoya and the crocodile, The Jackal and the Hyena, Iinmwenyo/Animals and Princess Makena while other titles like Wantama/Animals are published in the Swahili language.The foreword to this book has been written by the Namibian Minister of Finance, Saara Kuungongelwa-Amadhila
