WINDHOEK – Sport surely runs in the veins of the highly talented Hinda clan with brothers Veja, Nguvitjita and Veripamue taking local tennis by storm with astonishing displays on the regional circuit and look destined for greater heights given their exceptional competitive edge on the tennis court.

As if this is not enough, another Hinda sibling Unotjari, elder brother to the tennis crazy siblings has sprung to the fore and is making headlines in the tough and demanding rigours of the highly competitive football scene in Germany’s lower leagues.

The left-footed 19-year-old forward is on the books of SC Ludwigsthal 1920 and wears the number 14 jersey for the Saarbrucken, Saarland outfit.

The former Invincible Football club protégé impressed the German club while on a three-month visit to Germany and was offered a short-term contract. His former coach Joseph ‘Draaitjies’ Martin could not heap enough praise on the youngster.

“Uno is versatile footballer and can play in many positions – he was only 17 years old when he joined us but one could already tell he was genuine talent.”

Martin adds that the youngster’s decent upbringing could come in handy as he is unlikely to go the wrong way like many highly gifted athletes who developed the tendency of going off the rails with the world still at their feet.

“The boy is blessed with a sweet left and if he manages to keep his feet firmly on the ground, he will surely become an asset for the Brave Warriors in the not too distant future,” says the former Ramblers goal-scoring machine.

The multi-talented quartet is the offspring of local popular legal practitioner advocate Gerson Hinda and Hansina. The latter is a former national team netball player and has steered Black Africa to victory in numerous cup competitions.

Hansina has now turned her hand to swinging golf clubs and those in the know reckon it’s just a matter of time before she establishes herself among the country’s leading female golfers.
