‘Hitman’ released on N$2000 bail

Home International ‘Hitman’ released on N$2000 bail

Omuthiya

Paulus ‘The Hitman’ Moses was released on bail of N$2000 following a warrant of arrest instituted against him for failing to settle an admission of guilt fine of N$300 for purported common assault.

The warrant was issued in Tsumeb, where the boxer allegedly committed the crime. He appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where he was granted bail and his case transferred to the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on October 14 to explain why he previously failed to come to court and settle the fine.
Details are still somewhat sketchy regarding what transpired when Moses committed the assault to which he has admitted guilt, as neither the exact place where the fight occurred and with whom, have not been identified.

Moses, a former WBA lightweight boxer, is the current WBO continental champion, a title he is expected to defend next month against a Tanzanian boxer.

This is not the first time though the acclaimed boxer has been implicated in assault cases. Professional boxers, who are usually extremely fit and strong, are generally not allowed to brawl outside of the ring and risk losing their licenses if they do.
His case was presided over by Magistrate Sebby Alweendo, while Ivan Tjizu represented the State.
