WINDHOEK – Two of the country’s finest professional boxers Paulus “the Hitman” Moses and Paulus “the Rock” Ambuda, have promised a Christmas knockout bonus for this festive season.
The popular MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing & Fitness Academy is to promote the Christmas knockout boxing bonanza on December 20 at the Helao Nafidi Centre in Oshikango.
The event will give local boxing fans a Christmas present by presenting two former world champions and current international champions in Ambunda and Moses, who will both face tough challengers from South Africa and Argentina.
The Rock comes up against former world title challenger, Tshifiwa Munyai, while the Hitman takes on Jorge Rodriquez. Victory for both Namibians will take them closer to stake a challenge for world titles.
The Namibian pair has been training very hard and sparring against different boxers with different styles. This will be the last fight of the year after the Academy successfully hosted nine mega fights for the year, giving boxing fans world-class entertainment.
Currently ranked number 3 in the world, Amabunda boasts an astonishing record of 22 fights, 21 wins and only 1 defeat courtesy of his world title fight against Tomoki Kameda who is still the reigning world champion. Ambunda faces Tshifiwa Munyai from South Africa who boasts a record of 28 fights, 24 wins and 4 loses.
There will be exciting under cards that will see the likes of Vikapita “Beastmaster” Meroro the cruiserweight WBO Africa champion against the hard hitting Tineyi Maridzo.
The other bout on the card is the welterweight fight between Peter “The Butcher” Malakia and Tommy “The Lion” Hango over 8 rounds. Mike “Silent Assassin” Shonena is up against Nikola Mutonhara over 6 rounds.
