WINDHOEK– If I have to sum up the movie, Home, in two words, it is “cute” and “adorable”.
This is a great animation, full of adventure with funny and interesting characters. It’s such a genuine movie. The movie bring about Oh, a loveable misfit from another planet who lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people. He forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl, Tip, who is on a quest of her own. Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human. And while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word “Home”.
The movie contains colourful, cute characters with big eyes, delightful smiles and attractive designs. With characters like female lead, Tip (Rihanna), who plays the role of a smart and very much sassy girl together with the interesting and funny male lead, Oh (Jim Parsons), they couldn’t have picked a better cast. In addition, if you are a Rihanna Navy like me, you would love it.
Home has moments of muses. The message and conspiracy in the movie is another commendable thing about Home. Even if I’m not really an animation follower, and stories between aliens and human beings are not new, I spent the entire film with an overwhelming smile on my face and I left the cinema in such a good mood. What I find interesting is how Oh speaks English fascinatingly. He says things like “My hands are in the air like I just do not care’’, “I has made a few mistakes”, “I has find our car” and “I am much excitement” I find them pretty cute and hilarious.
If you are not touched by the story you will certainly love the soundtracks. The soundtracks are incredible and one can certainly sense the amount of liveliness that was put into the film. My feet were tapping all the way through and I’ll probably go watch it again. I will recommend this movie because it’s worth watching. Home is not only perfect for kids but it’s a feel good movie for all ages, especially for a family night out.
The movie is currently screening at the Ster-Kinekor (SK) cinemas at Maerua Mall and Kleine Kuppe.
