TSANDI – The construction of NHE houses at Tsandi Village Council under Kambwa Trading has so far offered direct employment to over 200 people from the town and nearby villages.

According to company owner Kambwa David, 60% of the recruits were women.

“Recruiting people from the local community has driven focus, made work easier and accelerated the process with the help of our esteemed experts,” said David.

David highlighted that having worked with 11 subcontractors has made him realise that there is quite a number of experienced small and medium contractors in the Omusati region. The subcontractors can carry out work and deliver quality work if given a ground to do so, according to David.

“I encourage any upcoming subcontractors to elevate because, with experience, the future NHE tenders could be awarded to you,” said the businessman.

He maintained that the construction industry is committed to ensuring that its future is intact and projects are executed. That the government must allocate projects and funds to local developers as they possess the necessary experiences and knowledge.

“The opportunity can be a greater approach to the country’s economic growth and maintenance of our finance locally. “If you look around, you will agree with me that this upgrade does not just outshine the land, but also shapes the view in Tsandi town. Attracting more beneficiaries and upgrading living standards.”
