World Boxing Organisation Africa (WBO) Welterweight Champion Shinima has sent a stern warning to his Tanzanian opponent, Idd Pialari, saying he will not last during their fight on Friday.

The two boxers will square it off in the ‘Together as One Part 10’ boxing bonanza, slated for this Friday at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair that will be staged by the country’s top stable, MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing Academy.

During a press conference held yesterday at the Protea Hotel in the capital, Shinima, who will headline the much-anticipated event, said preparations are so far going well, and they will just be doing some last touches ahead of the fight on Friday.

He said he is aware of the tough task that lies ahead but warned that his fight will not last 12 rounds.

“I know he has fought top guys on the continent or in their country, but when he faces me, I will be one of those top guys. I believe this bout won’t last 12 rounds, as I am going to take him down,” he said.

Meanwhile, John John Ndjolonimus, who is the WBO International Super Middleweight champion, also shared similar sentiments, saying he is ready for Friday, as he believes they have done what needed to be done to get into shape.

“I am happy, and I am ready for this fight on Friday. We had a great time preparing with good sparring partners, and we can finally say we are ready. I remain ready, and I see myself winning this bout before the end of the 12 rounds,” he said.

Also speaking at the same event, Nestor Tobias urged boxing fans to come out in numbers.

“This is going to be one of the biggest sporting events of the year, and it’s only right if boxing fans in the north can be part of this amazing night. The boxers are all ready, and we are going to put on a great show,” Tobias said.
